Planned Community Guidelines

Updated October 17, 2026

RateTheUSGov is being built for people who want to understand public officials and discuss their public conduct and policies. Agreement is not required. Accuracy, safety, and room for different viewpoints matter.

Participation is paused. These planned guidelines describe the community we intend to build and may change before participation opens. New accounts, ratings, and comments remain closed. Participation is intended for adults 18 and older; age safeguards are still being prepared.

Strong opinions and swearing are allowed

You may criticize officials, parties, policies, and this project. Swearing by itself is not a reason for removal. The same standards apply to praise and criticism, regardless of political viewpoint or rating.

Focus on public conduct

Discuss an official’s decisions, voting record, statements, campaign funding, or performance in office. Explain your view when possible. Distinguish opinion, allegation, and established fact. Provide credible sources for checkable claims, particularly allegations of wrongdoing. A political contribution alone does not prove bribery or explain a vote.

What is not allowed

  • Threats, encouragement of violence, or instructions to harm someone.
  • Slurs, dehumanizing attacks, or discriminatory abuse directed at people because of characteristics such as race, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
  • Targeted harassment, sexual harassment, or encouraging others to swarm or intimidate a person.
  • Doxxing or posting private addresses, personal phone numbers, account credentials, identity documents, or other private information. Use official public-office contact channels.
  • Impersonating another person, an official, a government office, or the site’s operator.
  • Knowingly false or misleading factual claims, fabricated evidence, or presenting an unverified accusation as a proven fact.
  • Spam, scams, malicious links, unrelated advertising, automated posting, or coordinated manipulation of ratings.
  • Sexual exploitation, explicit sexual material, or illegal content. Do not upload material you lack permission or another lawful basis to share.

How moderation will work

We may hold, remove, or restrict contributions or accounts that violate these rules. A word filter is only one possible tool: context matters, and no automated system catches every problem. Political disagreement or a low score alone is not a violation. Community submission rules and any rating limits will be explained when participation reopens.

We will aim to explain moderation decisions when practicable. You may ask for a decision to be reconsidered by emailing the contact below with the relevant page and a short explanation. Repeated reports do not guarantee removal, and reporting tools must not be used to silence disagreement.

Report a problem or correction

Email noisycricketcreations@outlook.com. Include the page link, the specific content you are reporting, why you believe it is wrong or violates these rules, and a source if it is a factual correction. Do not send someone else’s private information or illegal material as evidence.

Reports are reviewed manually; this is not a continuously staffed or emergency service. Your email is not automatically published as a public comment.

About community ratings

When available, ratings will describe voluntary community participation. They will not verify voter eligibility, residency, or whether a reviewer is represented by an official. They will not be scientific or representative opinion polls. No community score should be presented without its approved rating count and an explanation of how it is calculated.
